🐾 Why Our Service Dog Gear Is No Longer on Etsy

If you’ve visited our Etsy shop over the past two years, you may have noticed that our service dog gear is no longer listed. We want to share why—and reassure you that we’re still proudly making these items for the handlers who need them.

🚫 Etsy’s Policy Change

Etsy updated its Prohibited Items Policy, which now explicitly bans the sale of items that designate an animal as a service animal. While I don’t personally understand this position—especially when it affects legitimate handlers and makers—it is Etsy’s platform, and as a seller, I must comply with their rules.

✅ Still Available on Our Website

To remain compliant, I removed all service dog-related listings from my Etsy shop. But rest assured: I still design and sell these items through our own website, www.patienceandlove.com.

💬 Why it is important

Service dogs are essential to the independence of many individuals. Access to reliable, well-made gear should never be compromised. While Etsy’s policy change limits where I can sell, it doesn’t change my dedication to creating quality custom gear for handlers.
